What is a bridal session?

Bridal sessions are portraits of the bride alone wearing her wedding dress. These sessions are popular in the South, where it’s traditional to hang a large framed portrait of the bride at the reception. This portrait later hangs in her parents’ home.

A bridal session typically occurs about a month before the wedding and it’s a good chance for you to be sure your dress and accessories look just the way you want them to.

Locations for the session?

Most sessions are done on location( No travel fees apply for Fort Worth, Texas and Dallas, Texas ) . So you will work with Blue Sunshine Photography to find a location that suits you. We will work with you and make sure the day is fun, relaxed and enjoyable.

When should I schedule my bridal session?

Your bridal session should be scheduled no later than one month in advanced. This will allow time to get your dress cleaned after the session and give BSP enough turn around time for your prints.

Why would my dress need to be cleaned?
We take several precautions to keep your dress as clean as possible, but there is always that possibility that the bottom of the dress will get dirty during the session.

How long will it take to see my photographs?

There is usually a two to three week turnround on engagement and bridal sessions when it comes to posting your pictures on your personal on-line gallery. Once you select the prints you would like made, it will take one to two weeks to get them ordered and delivered.

What is a trash the dress session?

Lets start by saying this is not about destroying the dress it’s about creating some fabulous, unusual, more creative and fashion style Wedding Photographs in different locations. We realize that this isn’t going to be up everyone’s street but this is a new idea which has swept the United States and is quickly catching on in the UK and Europe – and it doesn’t have to be all that extreme its just a chance to use your wedding dress again ( before having it cleaned and boxed away) and in ways you would not have dreamt of doing on the day, to create stunning wedding pictures.

For years wedding photography has been just a little bit restricted by where a Bride is prepared to walk and what she will do in that very special dress on the big day itself.

We frequently hear brides after their wedding day say that they wish they had been a bit more adventurous on the day with their dress and couples complaining about the huge cost of cleaning the dress and packing it away in a posh box.

“Go ahead, you know you want to. Trash it. Get it dirty. Get it wet. Roll around in the mud. Drench it in the ocean. Totally trash it. Why? … Why not? You’ve made a commitment to your husband. He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And no, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years. So you have two choices 1) Suffocate it in plastic and throw it in a closet or 2) Show your husband how committed you are by trashing the dress, and get some great fun pictures while you do it!
